ABOUT US

Daskalaki | Papadopoulos Architects (Athens, Nicosia) was founded in 2006 by Georgia Daskalaki and Giannis Papadopoulos. The architectural practice operates within the field of design and research delivering projects of the public and private sector of various scales and programs, such as housing, interiors, urban design as well as exhibitions and publications. It has been awarded with prizes and distinctions in national and international competitions. Two of its most important projects are the “Residential and Commercial Complex in Metaxourgeio”, completed in 2009 and recently the “New building for the Cyprus institute of Neurology and Genetics and the open theatre of Agios Dometios Municipality”, to be completed in 2021.

 

Georgia Daskalaki is an architect(N.T.U.A., 2004) and Phd candidate at the University of Cyprus(U.Cy.).
As a practitioner, she has received awards and distinctions in national and international architectural competitions, participated in various exhibitions and published several architecture design projects.
Her PhD research focuses on health politics and leisure associated with cultural identity, environmentalism and nation-building processes in the post-war Mediterranean context. She also holds an MSc from NTUA(National Technical University of Athens).
She has also taught history and theory of architecture and architectural design at the University Of Cyprus as special teaching staff and architectural design at the NTUA as a teaching assistant. She has also worked as a research assistant at the research program: “Architecture and Modernization Histories of Cyprus: a critical analysis of institutional buildings and landscapes, 1960-1974 ” of the Mesarch Lab,U.Cy.

Giannis Papadopoulos holds a Diploma of Architecture (NTUA,2005) and is a PhD candidate at University of Cyprus.
He holds several awards and distinctions in Architectural Competitions, participated in various exhibitions and published distinct architecture projects.
He taught as an adjunct lecturer of architectural design at the department of Architecture University of Cyprus and Neapolis University.
